Story
AlterVia Fuels is a different kind of biofuels company. Located in the center of America's agricultural heartland, our early stage Chicago based technology development company is committed to finding innovative ways to meet the world’s energy, food and chemical needs through the expanded use of renewable sources. Our scientific methodology is deeply rooted in an understanding of nanoscale technology and thermodynamic principles which we’ve applied to these various marketplaces.
Unlike other biofuels companies, we don't intend to build or manage ethanol facilities. Instead, we will commercialize a robust
biorefinery technology solution that allows current corn ethanol plants and next generation cellulosic biofuels production to be more efficient, yield higher quantities and allow producers to be more profitable.
Our unique technology helps transform ethanol fuels from a "niche" product into a "primary" alternative fuel by enabling the most cost effective cellulosic ethanol conversion process available today, while at the same time yielding high value-added co-products.
AlterVia's biofuels conversion technology creates lower cost corn ethanol and cellulosic ethanol at a very inexpensive capital and operating costs, with superior ROI for existing ethanol plants. Additional co-products range from proteins, specialty chemicals, electricity and polymers.

Fueling Change.
Energy Facts:
- America consumes 26 percent of the world’s annual oil production, more than any other country. But America produces only 9 percent of the world’s oil.
What can you do to help?
- If everyone purchased one of the four most fuel efficient models in each vehicle class, Americans could save 13.1 billion gallons of gasoline per year
